WORKSHOP: Botanical Eco Printing: Beyond the Basics

Extend your basic knowledge and practice of botanical 'eco' printing, using sustainable materials and methods in a relaxing and inspiring workshop a small group at my home in South Liverpool.

After a brief recap of the principles and practice of botanical contact ['eco'] printing, you will explore the use of a range of tannins with iron, and the scope to create textured backgrounds on cloth.

Whilst having fun in a small group in a relaxed environment, you will learn about local sources of tannin, how you can create stunning backgrounds with them on cloth, using their interaction with iron. You will also learn more about leaves and differences in how they print.

Participant numbers for this workshop are restricted to five. A minimum of three students  is normally required for a workshop to run. Given the small size of the group, there will be plenty of time for detailed tuition and discussion. 

Workshop fee includes all mordants and tannins and some materials [worth £25], tea & coffee all day and a light vegetarian lunch each day. If you prefer, you may bring your own lunch. A vegan lunch can be provided if required.

You will be strongly recommended bring your own scoured fabric [details will be given after booking], or may purchase prepared fabric from me if preferred.
