Wonderfully soft wool sweater tunic, 90% merino wool, 10% cashmere, lovingly eco printed by hand with Eucalyptus NIcholli and Eucalyptus Cordata.
 
To enable the wool fibres to take the eucalyptus pigments well, the sweater  was soaked in 50% vinegar/50% water overnight. After the leaves were placed on it, it was steamed in my trusty aluminium fish kettle for two hours. The heat and moisture enabled the leaf pigments to be mobilised and transfer across to the wool fibres.  
 
Eucalyptus pigments have a particular affinity for wool fibres, and their high tannin content means that the prints are wash-fast. 
 
The sweater tunic is UK size 14-16, but would look great worn looser on a smaller body size. [The mannequin in the photos is approx size 12].
 
The sweater tunic measures  48"/124 cm at the chest and is 34.5"/88 cm long from the nape of the neck to the hem line.
