Silk satin shawl, dyed with weld and iron, printed with caster oil and other leaves [SC295]

Wonderfully luxurious large silk satin shawl, lovingly hand dyed with weld and iron; printed with castor oil, chocolate vine, cotinus [smokebush] and Japanese acer leaves: lovingly hand dyed and hand printed with sustainable methods and materials [SC295].

The shawl was dyed by hand with weld, then covered with  castor oil, chocolate vine, cotinus [smokebush] and Japanese acer leaves gathered from my garden in south Liverpool, UK.  The shawl was then covered with a 'carrier' blanket soaked in iron sulphate before being bundled onto a copper pipe and steamed for 70 minutes in my trusty aluminium fish kettle. 

A unique and striking accessory for many occasions.
